"Suicidal" jump off balcony prank

2 friends and I took part in a play when we were 15 and practice was in this 2-floor hall in town. It was the first day of practice when I was in the practice hall on the 2nd floor with 1 of my friends then realized the other wasn't around, so I went out to look for him.

When I stepped out of the hall I saw my friend sitting on the safety rails of a balcony overlooking the main street. He looked kinda sad, then he jumped off the edge! I got scared and ran over to see if he was okay and there he was standing grinning at me. Turns out there was something there he could stand on!

He had me there, the jerk!
